We all want the same things from life. We all value the same considerations and all need the same things to enable us to sustain life. The Earth Charter is a document that has been constructed by peoples of every race, creed and culture. In concept its message transcends politics, religion and culture yet in practical usage embraces all aspects of modern life.

It verbalizes the basic needs and connections we have to this life and conceptualizes a sustainable well considered plan of how we should act and interact with each other and our environment as a people to make everyone’s existence better and more sustainable covering topics such as: Human Rights, Elimination of Poverty, Promotion of a Culture of Peace and a Respect for Nature. The Earth Charter is not a new concept, nobody has invented it. It in itself is obvious and can already be observed in action, in nature and within our own societies. It is our connection with one another, with all life and with the planet, itself.

 

The Earth Charter:

• Gives us HOPE with its bold, courageously optimistic vision for a caring, sustainable and peaceful world.
• Lets us know through its shared common values that we are NOT ALONE.
• Gives us a LENS to wear to see ourselves as part of all humanity and vice versa, which makes us a better person.
• Gives us a PRISM for seeing the interconnection of environmental, social, and economic issues, which is the first step towards   making systemic change happen.
• Introduces us to folks who believe that BREAKING BREAD & SIPPING A FAVORITE BEVERAGE  together makes changing the world a whole lot more fun and surprisingly productive.

Climate Change Community Summits simultaneously held in at least 100 cities and communities around the world to address climate change and its effects at the local level will be connected via interactive Internet technology.
